Sleepers and Late Round Targets – Forwards

Zach Hyman – LW/RW – ADP 121

Hyman is the highest of picks on this list, but the role of playing on the wing of McDavid and not being ranked higher is criminal. He will have an excellent season and playing on the top powerplay in the league will add to his value drastically.

Jesse Puljujarvi – RW – ADP 165

Puljujarvi is on the right wing of McDavid and Hyman and will continue his progression and should have a solid season. Similar to Hyman, he is playing with the best player on the planet and getting reps on the best PP in the league. Another positive of Puljujarvi is when Yamamoto was injured in preseason, Tippet had him playing with Draisaitl and McDavid so there is potential for a high ceiling break-out season. When comparing Hyman and Puljujarvi, Hyman has dual position eligibility and slightly better peripherals as a whole, but Puljujarvi does slightly out hit Hyman.

Pavel Buchnevich – RW – ADP 163

I’m expecting a big season from Buchnevich this season with his new team in St.Louis. He was nearly a point per game player last year and I see him having quick chemistry with his linemates as well as given plenty of opportunities that hopefully he will take advantage of.

Travis Konecny – RW – ADP 169

Konecny had a very disappointing season after he was red hot in the 19-20 season where he was nearly a point per game, as well as scoring 24 goals in 66 games. With some new defencemen as possibly powerplay QBs in Yandle and Ellis, Konecny could benefit greatly from an improved PP for the Flyers. His goal scoring ability will hopefully lead to a big bounce back year for Konecny making him a great later round target.

Max Comtois – LW/RW – ADP 170

Comtois had a strong season last year and is developing into a valuable fantasy player. He gets plenty of hits and a decent amount of shots, but is often written off because he plays for the Ducks who are going through a rebuild. Playing on the wing of Zegras makes a him enticing as these young players grow and develop and will have every opportunity for ice time and PP usage.

Eeli Tolvanen – LW/RW – ADP 170

Tolvanen is similar to Comtois in his stat production and will also be having an increase role on the team this year after they have traded away Arvidsson. Tolvanen is a fun player to watch and is worth taking a flier on for his offensive skillset and increasing role with team.

Yegor Sharangovich – LW/RW – ADP 171

Scoring is maybe the biggest current concern of the NJ Devils going into this season. Sharangovich is playing on the first line with Jack Hughes and plenty of PP time, will allow for ample scoring chances to come his way. Sharangovich is a shooter and I think he will find the back of the net often this season.

Blake Coleman – LW/RW – ADP 171

I don’t love the contract, but I love the player and for my fantasy team I don’t care how much the Flames are paying him. Coleman fills every category of stat and will be a good fit in Calgary. Sutter loves his style of hockey and is slating him to get both top line and PP and is an absolute sleeper with the ADP of 171.

Conor Garland – LW/RW – ADP 174

Garland has improved every season he has played in the NHL and will continue that progression with his new team in Vancouver. Getting the opportunity to play with some very offensively talent players, look for Garland increase his point production and have success this season. A 30 goal 70 point season is very obtainable for Garland this season.
